Today I made a recording at my allotment, I was hoeing and raking a vegetable patch in preparation for spring planting.
Although the allotment is in a built up urban area inside a large park, there is a lovely sense of peace when one is left to the task at hand with only a gulp of magpies or a murder of crows for company. Today it was largely a gulp of distant magpies with a few solitary crows and some neighbourhood dogs.
The picture below is a section of the bed after the work. By June this soil will hopefully be enriching red and white onions.
